AC Machine Servicing & Calibration
On Site Servicing & Calibration of Automotive Air Conditioning Machines is a service we offer. Certified weights are used to ensure accuracy of recovery and the injection of gas giving you and your customers confidence that correct quantities are injected and manufacturers guidelines are followed. This is crucial part of any service so is advised it’s carried out annually.
All calibrations will be placed on a calibration certificate for customer records. (Refrigerant and Oil where applicable) The below is all included in a standard service & calibration
What’s included?
- Visual Inspection of machine advising on any damage that may cause issues, also advise on any cosmetic damage
- Check hose condition and also couplers for wear and tear
- Replacement of filter/filters as required & reset counter
- Replace vacuum pump oil
- Test vacuum performance by connecting onto vacuum gauge
- Pressure Transducer calibration
- Refrigerant scale accuracy is checked using calibrated weights then calibrated to a reference weight to advise on discrepancies
- Oil scales (if unit has them) are calibrated
- Check compressor performance
- Check injection performance on both refrigerant and oil/dye injection
- Full clean/wipe down of unit
Sometimes we encounter issues on a service in any case any additional parts to keep your unit running in great condition will be advised, if it’s a major component failure and service cannot be carried out we will advise accordingly.
What’s included?
Vacuum Pump Oil Replacement
Your machines vacuum pump oil will become contaminated over time with moisture and oils drawn in from the vehicles system you are working on, to keep vacuum pump running efficiently we advise replacement on every service.
Filter Drier Replacement
Every air conditioning machine using R134a and R1234yf refrigerant will have filters fitted to ensure any contaminants, moisture are filtered from refrigerant before going into tank for recycling. All air conditioning machines have a recovery counter or a timed counter and will alarm advising of replacement required.
Visual Component Check
All consumable components used during all cycles of an air conditioning machine service (gauges, couplers, hoses, panel valves and oil bottles) are checked for any damage or any wear and tear and will be placed as an advisory on your calibration certificate.
Functionality of System Check
All functions and injection are tested prior to service to ensure all components are in working order before proceeding to service the machine. Once all tested then all calibrations, oil change and filter change will be carried out. Before and after readings will be provided on certificate.
Vacuum Performance Check
A fully operational vacuum pump will successfully remove any moisture from vehicles (recommended minimum time 20 minutes) if vacuum pump does not run then no moisture is removed from vehicle so performance test is a crucial aspect to service. Along with performance check the pressure transducer (main sensor) will be calibrated to ensure both are running and reading accurately. Very important as pressure transducer indicates whether they fail vacuum leak check and may cause a false diagnosis.
Leak Testing
Checking all unions internally and pressure testing in machine is very crucial element of the service. Any leakages in machine need rectifying ASAP. Part of service is leak checking and ensuring all your refrigerant is safe inside the unit.
Certificate Provided
A certificate is a document that can be used for auditing purposes to prove that your machine is operating to iso standards. All refrigerant scales and oil scales have to fall within a tolerance so if calibrating doesnt give correct reading then scales would need to be replaced.
