Air Conditioning Service & Repairs
If your car air conditioning isn’t working as it should, or not at all, we offer an air con fault diagnosis, and repair if needed. Sometimes, when you get into the car, especially on a hot summer`s day, and put on the air con, nothing happens. You feel air coming out of the internal vents but it’s not getting cold. It may be that you just need an air con recharge or service but you could already have had that done recently so just need someone to come and take a look and advise what the problem is, and then fix it. That’s where we come in.
What’s included?
There could be other reasons why your air-con isn’t blowing cold anymore, but using pressure check function we will be able to advise if the issue is the result of anything other than the need for regassing.
For example, it’s possible your system may have a leak
The OFN Pressure Test Kit is used to detect leaks in an air conditioning system before recharging it. Being Oxygen free it doesn’t contain any moisture which would be harmful to the A/C system. It is illegal to knowingly release refrigerant into the atmosphere which is why OFN is used.

What’s covered in a car air conditioning service?
In summary, a full car air conditioning service includes:
* Initial system test
* Check system components such as hoses, belts, condenser, compressor, fans, electrics, etc
* Check internal system controls, flaps, heating, etc
* Recover any existing refrigerant from the system
* Vacuum A/C system
* Regas (recharge) A/C system with refrigerant to vehicle specific levels
* Add A/C oil and leak detection dye
* Leak test components
* Full post re-gas system test
* Update service records
Initially, we take a look at all the A/C components, looking for any obvious signs of damage or leaks, as there is no point spending time, and money, trying to recharge a car when you can tell it won’t work when done. Not only that, to recharge a car with obvious signs of a leak is illegal. You’re not allowed to release refrigerant into the atmosphere.
Once done, and all seems ok, we will vacuum the system, which removes all moisture by dehydrating system. .We’ll leave the vacuum running for at least 20 minutes.
On completion, we can check to see if the vacuum pressure holds. If not, it’s a sign of a leak as air is getting in. In which case we would try and find the leak.

Why have an air con service?
* Not cold enough
* Windows not demisting
* Runny nose, headache
* Strange noises when A/C is on
* Your car air con system loses up to 10% of its refrigerant every year.
* A poorly performing car air conditioning system can cause a build up of fungus, bacteria and other microbes growing inside the evaporator core, causing a smell, sometimes an allergic reaction and can lead to legionnaires disease.
* Have your car air con system serviced every 2 years. It will say that in your car manufacturers service guide, yet when your car is serviced, your A/C system is never serviced. It’s an extra, chargeable item, but vital to have done.
* A typical main dealer car air con service will cost you at least £100, plus you take the car to them.
* A poor aircon system can increase your fuel costs as the air conditioning pump need to work harder
